This groundcover/grass can reach up to 3' tall and has green leaves that are reddish maroon at the tips.

Miscanthus sinensis is popular ornamental grass. Red flowers are held well above foliage clumps, appearing in summer, and may be cut for fresh or dry arrangements. Miscanthus needs full sun and watering at least once a week and more during hot summers. Foliage is variegated, with a thin white band down the center. This grass does great in coastal as well as warm inland valleys.

Like the deodora, this fast-growing coniferous evergreen can reach a size 80' tall by 40' wide. The foliage of this tree is has a beautiful golden cast, and it requires full sun in order to best develop its color.

Botanical name:Prunus cerasifera 'Thundercloud'

This deciduous tree grows to 25' tall with a 20' spread. The single flowers are light pink, blooming in spring. 'Thundercloud' has a dense, round form, which is great for small front and back yards. It has deep purple foliage until it changes to bronze in the fall.
