Little-Leaf Linden
Rosea Yarrow

Common name:Rosea Yarrow
Botanical name:Achillea millefolium rosea

This perennial treat for those who like cut flowers to grace their table grows 18" to 24" tall, and 24" wide. It can tolerate poor, dry soil and full sun to part shade. The pretty pink flowers bloom in summer and sit on top of fern-like foliage. Yarrows propagate easily from rooted cuttings or divisions, which should be performed in the early spring or fall. Following bloom, one should dead head the plant and divide the clumps when it appears crowded.

Blue Staccato Bearded Iris

Common name:Blue Staccato Bearded Iris
Botanical name:Iris bearded 'Blue Staccato'

This Iris is a striking variety that grows up to 40" tall. It has graceful stems that hold dark blue, fluted and ruffled, upper petals with white blooms edged in dark blue on the lower petals.

Little-Leaf Linden

Common name:Little-Leaf Linden
Botanical name:Tilia cordata

A large deciduous tree that can reach 30'-50' tall, Littleleaf Linden creates a dense pyramid that can be used as a screen. It blooms with white fragrant flowers. It does well in urban settings. Its cultivars are budded onto the understocks of the seedlings. Should the native soil be of a clay-like nature, then plant the tree high so as to allow for drainage. They combine well with bulbs, azaleas, Japanese Holly, and Burkwood viburnum.
