Botanical name:Iris Bearded Hybrids

This perennial will grow 1'-3' tall and has medium sized, blue green leaves with flowers of different colors that bloom in spring. It needs well draining soil and full sun. Many are fragrant and rebloom several times a year. Plant rhizomes in Sept or Oct. They need water once a week during the hot spells. Top dress with compost and gypsum in January and August.

Bitsy Daylily

Botanical name:Hemerocallis 'Bitsy'

This dependable perennial has thin, strap-like, grass-like leaves reaching 12"-18" tall. Bright yellow flowers, resembling lilies, are high above the foliage, making the overall height of this plant at 24" tall. Blooms appear in spring through fall, thus making this Hemerocallis variety very popular. It needs regular watering and more during hot summer months. It prefers full sun or light shade and will tolerate seaside conditions.

CompactLaurel Cherry

Botanical name:Prunus caroliniana 'Compacta'

This large evergreen shrub or small tree has leaves that are glossy and 2"-4" in length. It is excellent as a formal hedge or an informal screen. It has creamy white flowers in late winter and spring followed by small black berries. 'Compacta' reaches 8'-10' tall and 6'-8' wide and tends to be more dense.

Crimson Queen Japanese Maple

Botanical name:Acer palmatum 'Crimson Queen'

This beautiful tree reaches 10' tall and wide, growing at a moderate pace. Acer needs afternoon shade in hot inland areas and regular watering and more during hot summer months. It prefers acid, well draining soil. Leaves are dissected, with an overall weeping habit. Foliage is burgundy in spring, changing to red in fall before dropping. This is a spectacular tree for Asian style gardens.

Silvery Sunproof Blue Lily Turf

Common name:Silvery Sunproof Blue Lily Turf
Botanical name:Liriope muscari 'Silvery Sunproof'

While similar to the Liriope muscari, the leaves of the 'SIlvery Sunproof' are edged gold, turning white as they mature. It grows best under partial shade and in warm climates.
