Description

This is a ground hugging, creeping, rugged subtropical groundcover. It can serve as a lawn substitute that can take some traffic, and it can be mowed. It attracts bees when it blooms. It is used in water gardens and for habitat restorations. Butterflies love this groundcover also. It is very adaptable, suitable in both wet and dry locations. Plant 2 ft. apart for a quick, dense, creeping turf only 2 inches tall. Pretty 1/2 inch lavender-pink flower clusters appear Spring thru Fall, attracting many small butterflies and bees. Mow periodically to reinvigorate. This plant looks better with occasional deep watering and full sun.
